Thursday, April 28, 2005 {home: daly city, ca} quick trip nico and i went to vegas this past weekend to watch the new cirque du soleil, Ka, at mgm grand. we really enjoyed the show! (however, because we caught a late show, we were kinda sleepy in the dark theater =P) without giving too much away, it's theater coupled with circus acrobatics on a hydraulic stage! If you are a fan of cirque, it's a must-see. we didnt gamble too much (i lost $20 in 10 seconds on a slot), but mostly hung out. we met up with ibalik at the original pancake house. ibalik took pictures of our food (his pictures look better than my digicam pics -- still trying to learn how to use =P). i ordered the HUGE apple pancake (I didnt realize how big it was at the time), nico ordered the santa fe omelette, and ibalik ordered the spinach with gouda cheese omelette. I'm glad we ate family-style - it gave us a chance to sample each entree. mmm, so filling! we also hung out with romeo - he and amara just bought a house in a new development over there. the house was really nice - they had just dug out a pool. we had dinner/happy hour at the buffalo wild wings place down the street (way down the street), and played trivia. two extremes while taking pictures in front of the bellagio, we asked a random guy (he was a bit older) to take our picture. he took this: we then tried to take our self-portrait, but a couple around our age took pity and said "we'll take your picture for you.. do you want more of the background or more of you?", we said "more of us" so she took this: two styles, too extreme. haha. * 6:06 PM * bernadette * *

Monday, April 18, 2005 {home: daly city, ca} supermacro my new digital camera (thank you to everyone who contributed! ;) =D) is a pentax optio 5si. i wont go into the technical aspects of this camera like nico and gary would. [besides, you guys can read the specs from the link] i'll just say that i like it because it's a quick and simple ultra compact point and shoot that can fit in an altoids tin. [yep, that's pretty much what sold me. the altoids tin.] nico was playing with it today while we were having dinner with my family, and found that it had a super macro feature: hm, i'm not even sure if this picture was taken in supermacro. can we get closer? * 10:04 PM * bernadette * *
