Monday, October 18, 2004 {home: daly city, ca} for your reference, i've labeled my jobs: down to 1 i went to work (#2) last thursday after work (#1) to tell my boss (real estate broker) that i had just given notice to #3 [last day is oct 23], which meant i could devote more time to #2 [and actually have some sort of social life and rest!]. she was happy with my decision, and was also glad that my other work (#1) was going so well [i had given her the scoop on how well #1 was doing over the past few weeks]. we were both, however, concerned that we werent maximizing my time at #2, since i always came after hours (sometimes she needed help during office hours), and for such a short period of time (im only there tues & thursdays). after a short amicable discussion, we realized that she couldnt ask me to quit my full time job, nor could she pay me an adequate salary at this time, so we both made a mutual agreement to put our projects "on hold". so with that, i am now down to 1 job. it's a bit scary since i've been juggling these things for the past 2-3 months, and each have been somewhat a back up plan (in case something didnt go permanent). but lately it seems that #1 has much potential for becoming permanent (*cross fingers*), and i'm still going to complete my self-study real estate class (which i've been trying to finish for the past few months but couldnt because of the 3 jobs =P). so even tho i'm down to 1, there's always still something going on in the background... i just hope that i keep my "free agent" mentality. btw, if you guys were keeping track, i've had a total of 6 jobs this year (retail [at HQ], consultant [the two week gig in april], construction temp, retail again, real estate, and biotech [as a contractor]....). yes, i'm looking forward to doing my taxes this year. =P * 8:50 PM * bernadette * * |

Tuesday, October 12, 2004 {home: daly city, ca} update, unwind i've been such the slacker but my dsl is up and running, FINALLY! and i have the night off... so here's the nutshell: * bev and gary are finally married and off in italy (bridemaid wedding duties are complete!) * i decided to give notice to one of my three jobs (the retail one) because i realize time to myself is worth more to me than the extra cash/discount (read: im tired =P). * my contract gig (the full time 7am-4pm biotech job) seems to be looking good, the possibility of renewal after three months (or even going permanent) is really high. * nico's moved into the new place, and we have a few home improvement projects to think about. (putting screens on the windows, refinishing the kitchen cabinets, finding furniture!...) * it's october and i noticed in the store that we have christmas ornaments on display right next to the halloween accessories. * lanz is finally able to walk around by himself (not too fast, and when he gets lazy he crawls!) * i have 6 episodes of smallville on my tivo that i havent watched yet. im so waaaay behind. =P ... so much to do, so little time... ;) * 7:05 PM * bernadette * * |
