Wednesday, May 26, 2004 {home: daly city, ca} working full time hi. yes. im still here. i know i freaked out last week... i have to say, im not that broke (just very close to it), i just cant spend freely like i used to. *mini ipod image in the distance moving further and further away* i sent in unemployment and now i have all this paperwork, plus an interview next week. im hoping that i can get some relief from that, although it would be a LOT nicer to get a full time job that i like. Also, i turned in an application to get cheaper health insurance. so i've really been working hard on looking for a job. and yes, what they say about looking for a full time job as a full time job is very true. i try to wake up early and sit here looking, applying, tweeking the resume, etc., trying to throw out as many potential opportunities so that i can choose... so far, i've gotten a call from a recruiter (sounds like a cool job), and i did get an interview last week (but not for a position i wanted =P). more opportunities, please. *cross fingers* * 11:23 AM * bernadette * * |

Wednesday, May 19, 2004 i cant afford anything. literally. i dont think i can even eat out. i can probably afford a $1.50 hot dog and soda from costco. i have $.50 in my wallet. i have to dig around the house for loose change for the other dollar. how sad is that?! i mean, all my life i was one to save up and make sure i have a back up. a cushion, if you will. and i do. but right now, it's diminished to a really really finely thin line of a cushion. it's not even a cushion. it's a really thin-ass quilt. i have just applied for health insurance that is cheaper than the hella expensive ass cobra. i'm going to have to apply for unemployment. im so sad. i need a job. =( * 12:48 PM * bernadette * * |

Thursday, May 06, 2004 {home: daly city, ca} farewell, friends tonight my favorite show will air its last episode. im a bit sad, but i think it'll be okay. ;) i think if the show went on any longer, it would lose it's edge. the actors and producers need to move on to bigger and better things [hm, i should do the same...haha!]. i dont think i've ever been into anything as much as this series. yeah, call me dorky - i know all of the lines, situations, scenarios [DORK!!!] - i could probably kick ass on friends trivia, but i feel like i grew up with them. they are all just so funny and dorky. just like me! haha =P ;) so are you ready to PAARRRTY like gandalf (mike "gandalf" ganderson, chandler and ross' college friend, not lord of the rings gandalf)!? come on by and watch the friends finale with me! =) * 3:31 PM * bernadette * * |

Tuesday, May 04, 2004 {home: daly city, ca} decorator for a week so for the past few days, i've been helping nico not only move into eddie's house, but i've also played decorator by helping him decide what furniture as well window treatments to purchase. there was a bit of a set-back after we peeled the tape off the wall when we finished painting the trim - some of the paint on the wall peeled off!!! =P so we had to go back and do touch-ups. we went to ikea this past sunday, where nico picked out some modular wall units. he didnt want to spend too much on furniture he might let go of in a couple of years. afterwards there was some debate on what kind of window treatments he should use. the windows in his room at eddie's house are two picture windows that join at a corner - this proves problematic for curtain rods because there will be overlap at the corners (not cute) unless we find corner curtain rods (which we couldnt really find at ikea or target). so instead i suggested tension rods (found in the bath dept) with curtains. seeing how the curtain choices were limited (to match his color combo in the room), i thought about maybe making some curtains. it didnt sound too hard, right? well, i went to joann fabrics yesterday to pick out some material in the home decor dept. nico met me after work and we finally decided on a pattern. when we got to the cutting table, we realized they didnt have enough of the fabric we chose for the curtains!!! =P grr. so we went to target to see if there was an alternative curtain choice (this was the third target i went to). of course there wasnt much to match his color scheme. it was then that nico discovered that the vertical blinds were on sale for $3.99!!! what a bargain! now the problem at hand is installing it.... stay tuned... * 5:19 PM * bernadette * * |
